It is the festival of lights in India and I am officially missing my home and the festive fervor. While I am literally craving for Diwali sweets and snacks I also remember the promise that we have made to ourselves.. of choosing healthy always.. so keeping this in mind I have a fantastic combat Diwali sweet recipe that is Paleo Gajar ka Halwa.
The Paleo lifestyle never ceases to surprise me.. in the sense that I feel absolutely amazed on how one can replace the traditional ingredients with the paleo friendly ones and create absolutely just the same effect. This Paleo Gajar Halwa is just as natural as it gets.. and I may even go a bit further so as to say it is even better than the traditional one since it is made from Paleo-friendly ingredients.
In my initial days, when I had just turned Paleo, my maternal aunt (whom we call Mami) came over to visit me. Now she is an expert cook and whenever she’s in town you are sure to have a party each day with her yummy food. But this time I knew it was going to be different.
When she learned that I was following a Paleo way of living she was like fret, not coz I have just the recipe for you. She threw these ingredients together and amazed me… Since that day I make this recipe on almost every festive season.. and today here I am sharing my healthy way of living with you…
Gajar ka halwa is basically a sumptuous mix of carrots and milk. I do not have an English name for it per se.. so I am going to just stick to ‘Gajar ka halwa’. Somethings are good when left just as is.
So here goes this awesomely lip-smacking of a goodie recipe.. (and don’t believe my word for it) try it for yourself…
